About the Therify Mental Health Coach
A Therify Mental Health Coach plays a crucial role in the care of our members. You will work with members seeking to gain skills and techniques to improve and maintain their mental wellness. Mental Health Coaches are part of Therify’s Care Team and are supported as such. You will have access to Therify’s library of tools and resources, have weekly consultations with peers, and receive training to ensure the best care for our members.
Client care: You will conduct 15, 30, and 50-minute client sessions, schedule sessions, and respond to client messages punctually and professionally.
Cultural Humility: Possesses cultural identity awareness, utilizes a client-centered approach, seeks to balance power inequities, engages in self-reflection, and commits to lifelong learning and understanding.
Records: Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including (but not limited to) care plans, assessments, and daily notes.
Evidence-based Foundation: Utilize evidence-based tools, such as PHQ-9, GAD-7, and CSSR-S, to assess clients regularly and escalate cases as needed to Therify’s Care team. Incorporate evidence-based theories such as CBT, DBT, Solutions Focused, and Motivational Interviewing into your practice.
Competency and Collaboration: Complete Therify trainings and remain up to date with company requirements. Attend weekly team meetings/case reviews.
Compensation: $27-50/session, depending on experience.
About the Successful Candidate
Mission-Aligned: You share a passion for making mental healthcare more inclusive and equitable, especially for people from underserved communities.
Education Background:
Pursuing a graduate degree or having completed a graduate degree in a psychology-related field. If currently in the program, you have completed a year of coursework and a counseling skills course (at minimum).
AND/OR earned any of the following credentials: National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) Certified, Credentialed as an ICF Coach, Credentialed as a CMPC (Certified Mental Performance Consultant).
Experience/Practice Background: At least 200 direct supervised client hours, experience with working with diverse clientele, and proof of course completion in Counseling Skills, Professional Ethics, Diversity & Inclusion, and Psychopathology.
Availability: Have a minimum of 4 hours available per week for client sessions.
Culturally Humble Approach: You have experience, knowledge, and passion for working with historically excluded populations. You approach sessions with a flexible and adaptable style.
Excellent Counseling Skills: You have strong active listening skills, have the ability to build a strong rapport with your clients quickly, and can cultivate a warm relationship with all clients you work with. You display enthusiasm, commitment, and compassion while setting boundaries within the client-coach relationship.
Technology Skills: You have experience and an openness to use multiple technological tools in your day-to-day work.
Collaborative: You collaborate well with team members and have the ability to build relationships within a remote setting.
Bias for Action: You take initiative toward exceptional client care. You possess exceptional time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
